
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi had a busy schedule last week that included a number of activities and meetings.
President Sisi held talks on Sunday with his Mauritanian counterpart Mohamed Ould Abdel Aziz and discussed means of enhancing bilateral ties.
The talks discussed ways of promoting cooperation particularly in the economic fields as well as international and regional issues of mutual concern.
President Sisi praised Mauritania's decision to host the Arab summit slated for July 25-26.
Sisi said Egypt is fully ready to cooperate with Mauritanian to render the summit successful to promote the joint Arab action
President Sisi received a US Congress delegation under South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham in the presence of Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and US Ambassador to Egypt Stephen Beecroft.
During the meeting, Sisi welcomed the US delegation and voiced appreciation of strategic ties binding Egypt and the US.
Egypt also appreciates the aid provided by US, which contributed to attaining joint interests for the two countries, Sisi said.
Sisi, meanwhile, affirmed Egypt's commitment to its strategic partnership with the US and its keenness on boosting bilateral ties in the various spheres.
President Sisi, meanwhile, stressed the importance of adopting a comprehensive strategy to uproot terrorism, adding that the difficult economic conditions provide a fertile ground for the growth and spread of violence and terrorism.
It is important to confront all terrorist groups, without focusing on a certain organization, he added.
President Sisi also met with Speaker of the US House of Representatives Paul Ryan and discussed promoting strategic relations.
He stressed that Egypt welcomes continuous interaction and dialogue with the US and the exchange of viewpoints on several regional and international issues of mutual concern.
