Prime Minister Sherif Ismail asserted the government's keenness on securing basic commodities in markets at affordable prices, particularly with the advent of the fasting month of Ramadan.
This came at a meeting on Monday with Chairman of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) Abu Bakr el Gendi.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed a number of daily reports on the availability and prices of basic commodities in markets.
Sherif also asked the agency to present daily, weekly and monthly reports on the prices of basic products in main markets in Cairo, Alexandria and a Nile Delta city.
The reports will be conducted in cooperation with the Supply and Internal Trade Ministry.
