A public prosecution team inspected the blast scene of the National Security building in Shubra El Kheima to stand on the nature of the explosion and its impact.
The public prosecution ordered that the records of surveillance cameras at the buildings be viewed and investigations be conducted into the attack.
The prosecution team also listened to eyewitnesses and injured persons over the attack.
Mohamed Ahmed, a non-commissioned police officer, said that a car stopped in front of the building at 2 a.m. as the traffic lights were red and its driver abandoned it and took a motorbike just a minute before the lights went green.
The car exploded immediately, creating a shock wave in the area and destroying the building's facade and nearby house windows, Ahmed said.
Meanwhile, Mohamed Salah, a worker at the security building, said they were notified that a white pickup was parked outside the building and when they went out, it exploded.
