
Under the patronage and presence of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the Trade in Islam Forum kicked off here this evening. The Forum is organized by the Ministry of Economy and Trade in collaboration with Sheikh Eid Charity.
The Forum was attended by a number of Their Excellencies ministers, businessmen and members of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce.
Speaking at the Forum were Dr. Tariq Swedan, Islamic scholar who specializes in human development, Dr. Nabil Al-Awadi Islamic preacher, Dr. Mohamed Gohar member of the Qatar Chamber of Commerce, and Ali Al-Abdullah Al Sulaiti, Director General of Sheikh Eid Charity.
The Forum featured a number of topics, including the interest of Islam in trade, and the role of traders in community service, in addition to the social responsibility of traders, and their efforts in the revitalization of charitable work in collaboration with the institutions involved in this field. Participants also reviewed the work and achievements of the Qatari charities at home and abroad, and the role played by these institutions in the service desired by the state of the international community.
