
Qatari Red Crescent (QRC) on Thursday opened two relief projects for displaced Syrians in Bakain East and West in eastern Lebanon and also inspected the projects it carried out in the region.
Qatari Red Crescent mission in Beirut, in a statement on Thursday, said the first leg of the projects started with covering the road surfaces with “Thiophenol”, inspecting the thermal insulation project and the ‘Hope School’ in Homsi Camp in the town of Saad Nile where QRC distributed winter family wear for the disciples of Syrian refugees.
The tour in the town of Majdal Anjar has concluded with the opening of a Physical Therapy Center and inspecting the breast cancer department in ” Gherass Al Kheir” Center and the pharmacy, the statement added.
The opening was attended by QRC Secretary-General, Saleh bin Ali Al-Mohannadi, and Director of QRC Social Development Department and DMC Manager, Rashid bin Saad Al-Mohannadi.
Commenting on the event, QRC Secretary-General said Qatar Red Crescent is working in Lebanon for a long time, and we carry out quality projects that would raise the plight of refugees there.
Today’s projects complete the projects being implemented by the Qatari Red Crescent, he said, pointing to the success of the thermal insulation project and its benefits in terms of providing warmth for displaced Syrians in such a cold region, as well as saving the use of diesel fuel.
In Wednesday, QRC inaugurated in partnership with its Bahraini counterpart a project of solar water heater units for displaced Syrians in Sir ed Danniye, Norther Lebanon for 700 displaced people.
