Qatari voters began casting their ballots Wednesday morning in the municipal elections, which held every four years.
This is the fifth session since the start of the first municipal elections in the country in 1999.
Constituencies headquarters across Qatar opened their doors at 8:00 AM to receive the voters of both genders.
Voting process is scheduled to continue until 5:00 PM and then the counting process will begin to announce the winners of the membership of the municipal council.
More than 21,000 voters enrolled in the voter list have the right to vote to choose 26 members out of 29, including five women.
Voters must come in-person to their constituencies. They should produce their registration card and their personal ID card. If the voter cannot select a candidate, he or she will be assisted by the election committee head.
