Opening session of the first coordination meeting of military officers and personnel involved in the GCC Gulf Spears Drill (6) was held on Sunday, Kuwait news agency (KUNA) reported. The coordinating meeting, scheduled to be hosted by Kuwait from September 9 to Sept. 11, is organized within framework of the Peninsula Shield Drill (9). The meeting was opened by Group Captain Dakheel Bani Al-Mutairi, Commander of Abdullah Al-Mubarak Air Base. He emphasized that Gulf Spears (6), carried out each year in one of the GCC countries, is aimed at raising level of the combat readiness of the air forces of the GCC countries. The meeting was attended by officers of the air forces of the GCC member states, in addition to a delegation from GCC General Secretariat.
