The Rafah border terminal with the Gaza Strip remained open on both sides Thursday for the fourth and last day in a row to allow stranded Palestinians and aid supplies into the coastal enclave.
The Egyptian authorities had agreed to re-open the crossing for four days, starting Monday, an official source at the Rafah crossing said.
As many as 5,208 persons crossed the terminal in the last three days, the source added.
As many as 2,813 tons of construction materials and 1,055 tons of gravel were allowed into the enclave, according to the source.
The Rafah terminal was closed following the Karm el Qawadis terrorist attack on October 24, 2014.
