Noura bint Mohammad Al Kaabi, Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs, has reiterated the importance of maintaining the relationship between executive and legislative authorities to achieve sustainable development in the UAE.
"This collaborative relationship adheres to the directives of the UAE’s wise leaders. This is most evident in the close attention that the Council pays to the issues that most affect citizens’ lives, bringing them to the fore during the Council’s meetings to secure the happiness and wellbeing of the Emirati people," said Al Kaabi during the inauguration of the 2nd ordinary session of the 16th Legislative Chapter of the Federal National Council Chapter on Sunday.
"The Council never stops working to meet its responsibilities towards the Emirati people, as set by the UAE’ leadership. It is our mandate to serve the people and support them to achieve all their aspirations. They are the UAE’s most valuable asset and resource; with that in mind, the UAE spares no effort to empower our citizens and enable them to excel in any field they choose,"
she added.
''The second ordinary session convenes at a time when the UAE is scoring achievements on the local, regional, and global levels. The country is keen to demonstrate its ability to overcome any challenges that it may face as it edges forward to achieve its sustainable development goals, setting an example for progress and prosperity brought about by the solid relationship between the UAE’s leadership and people,'' she noted.
She stressed that constructive dialogue remains a main source for legislations. This approach increases the prospects of development and prosperity in all sectors; it reflects the high level of integration and cooperation between the FNC and the UAE Government. The Cabinet is keen to address issues raised by the house quickly and seriously in order to form a partnership with the community to improve the quality of life for citizens throughout the United Arab Emirates.
"The UAE leadership strives to establish the government of the future, and encourage the youth to actively participate in the development process and become the leaders of the future," Al Kaabi explained.
"This vision must go hand in hand with a significant shift in parliament, one that bolsters the role of the FNC as a representative of the people and their causes, and to practice its mandate as a legislative body that supports the developments taking place around the country," she concluded.
