
Egyptian Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Hossam Moghazi said Sunday the Renaissance Dam is a national security issue and the Egyptian negotiators are sincere and keen on national interests.
"Egypt has historic and water rights in the Nile and they are red lines that cannot be trespassed as the Nile is our source of life in Egypt," he told MENA.
The minister called on non-specialists to refrain from indulging into the affairs of the Ethiopian Dam negotiations saying that the bodies concerned are ready to explain the developments of the negotiations.
On the construction of the Renaissance Dam, the minister said general constructions reached 48 percent while the skeleton of the dam amounted to 20 percent.
