King Faisal Hospital in Taif recently sought the help of emergency health and rescue teams to transport a woman suffering from obesity. She weighs 200 kg.
The woman had been receiving treatment at the hospital for sometime. When doctors gave the order for her discharge from hospital, they realized they had a problem at hand. No ordinary vehicle could take her home due to her size and weight, a local publication reported.
Subsequently, a medical task force consisting of hospital staff and a team from the emergency department, in addition to a rescue team, moved the woman from the hospital to her house which was located in the upper floor of a building. She was moved to her house on a special stretcher.
