Egypt’s Speaker Ali Abdel Aal, who chaired the first conference of Arab parliament speakers, hailed the results of discussions, saying a report would be presented to the Arab leaders in the upcoming summit.
Deputy Secretary-General of the Arab League Ambassador Ahmed ben Helli renewed support for a call for a pan-Arab military force.
Ben Helli asserted that Saudi Arabia has no objections on the joint force proposal.
For his part, Arab Parliament Speaker Ahmed al-Jarwan said a statement on the situation in the Palestinian territories would be discussed during the next AL’s summit.
Egypt’s parliament speaker said that a roadmap was adopted during the conference to back counter-terrorism efforts.
Chiefs of staff of Arab states have agreed on a protocol to form a joint military force, Abdel Aal added, noting the protocol would also be added to the AL’s summits agenda.
