Royal Jordanian celebrated the graduation of 47 employees, who are the first group that took the leadership program the national carrier launched last November to improve employees’ skills and tap into the airline’s expertise to the benefit of the regional and global airline industry.
In the ceremony, RJ President/CEO, Captain Suleiman Obeidat, stressed the flag carrier's confidence in the competence of its human resources and their keenness to work to develop RJ and increase its competitive edge, in order to maintain its position as a leading airline in the region, according to a RJ statement.
Obeidat said RJ employees are a mirror of the qualified Jordanian human resources, who had the knowledge and skills, discipline, commitment, work ethics and loyalty.
All these qualities, he added, enable RJ to be a pioneer in the air transport industry and on par with the 14 other carriers that form the oneworld airline alliance, beside RJ. Captain Obeidat noted that the first group members worked over the past three months to accomplish seven ambitious projects in the IT, commerce, HR and other fields where they came up with appropriate solutions and recommendations that departments will implement and make use of.
Obeidat praised the team spirit that prevailed among the participants in the program, as well as their keenness and dedication to attaining the goals of their projects.
He added that RJ will endeavor to invest more in its employees for the company’s progress and will implement its strategic plan to increase revenue, control cost and boost RJ's market share locally and internationally.
Chief Commercial Officer, Majdi Sabri, who supervised the program in cooperation with consultant Ismail Salah, said the leadership program will continue with another 42 staff members in its second batch, working to achieve another seven projects that will contribute to finding different work methods, offering better services to customers and improving the work environment.
At the end of the ceremony, Captain Obeidat delivered certificates to the graduates and the sponsors of each group, praising their dedication and efforts, and wishing RJ further success.
