Sameh Shoukry calls for confronting militants

Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry underlined the importance of the war that has been launched by Egypt against terrorism, stressing the need to face such phenomenon in a comprehensive way by coordinating with the western countries.

He noted that the extremist groups, which share the same ideology, should be faced all in Libya, Syria, Iraq, Yemen and in the whole world.

The Egyptian top diplomat's remarks came during his meeting with Polish Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defence Tomasz Siemoniak in Warsaw on Wednesday.

During the get-together, Siemoniak highlighted the historic relations between the two countries, underlining Egypt's pivotal role in the region which makes it able to achieve stability in the Arab world.

He also highlighted Egypt's role in fighting terrorism in Sinai and the region.

Shoukry discussed Egypt's achievements on the political level such as the success of the Economic Development Conference (EEDC) as well as preparation for holding the parliamentary elections, said Foreign Ministry spokesman Badr Abdel Atti.
