The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) received a request from Saudi Arabia to hold an urgent meeting for the foreign ministers of the organization's member countries so as to discuss the Israeli escalation in Al Quds (occupied East Jerusalem).
In a statement issued on Saturday, OIC Secretary General Iyad Ameen Madani underlined that the organization welcomes that call to probe the Israeli violations in occupied Al Quds and means of halting the attack on Al Aqsa Mosque.
Madani further said that the call reflects that the Palestinian cause is a priority for Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz al Saud.
The OIC chief reiterated that the organization coordinates with the member countries to hold the meeting in New York during organizing the general assembly of the United Nations.
Holding that get-together is very essential amid Israeli plans to divide the holy mosque, Madani underscored.
