Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has ordered that a people-driven campaign be organized across the kingdom to help the Syrian people, and allocated SR 100 million for the cause.
The campaign, which starts Tuesday, comes due to the "suffering" of the Syrian people, particularly those in Aleppo "who have been displaced and because of the difficult situation they face as well as hurting times" they are going through, the Royal Court said in a statement carried by state news agency SPA.
King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Works will coordinate with relevant authorities to provide aid items such as food, medicine and shelters as well as treating the injured, preparing furnished camps and urgently delivering winter aid.
The king launched the campaign by donating SR 20 million, while Crown Prince Mohammed bin Naif bin Abdulaziz donated SR 10 million and Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz contributed SR 8 million.
