The Ministry of Interior has put in place the necessary precautionary measures to protect the security and safety of public and prevent traffic congestion during the Eid Al-Adha holidays.
At the behest of Acting Prime Minister, Minister of Interior, Acting Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, and Acting Minister of Defense Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, the ministry started enforcing a comprehensive strategy to suit the convenience of citizens and foreign residents, a senior official said Thursday.
"Security and traffic personnel are being deployed on all roads and at the main intersections to prevent any traffic congestion," said Brig. Adel Al-Hashash, Director of the Ministry's Public Relations and Moral Guidance Dept. and Acting Director of the Security Media Dept.
"The various security departments and competent bodies are in close contact with the Central Operations Directorate around the clock to ensure effective coordination," he said, noting the border security affairs sector and the criminal investigations dept. play a key role in protecting the country's territorial waters and land borders.
Brig. Al-Hashash reminded the holidaymakers of the need to abide by law and traffic rules, and avoid any reckless behavior or bad manners that could disturb others or result in problems during the holidays.
