
Tight security measures were taken in Suez on the June 30 anniversary which marks the of toppling president Mohamed Morsi.
Security forces combed desert areas along the eastern side of the Suez Canal and Mount Ataqa.
A security source said choppers hover over the Suez governorate as part of the intensive security measures.
The source added security measures will also be tightened in Ahmed Hamdi tunnel which links the governorate to Sinai.
Security forces were deployed to safeguard vital facilities, petroleum and security buildings as well as Suez courts complex, the source added.
Suez Security Chief Tareq el Gazzar said there is a comprehensive security plan for the governorate on the June 30 anniversary, noting that health and ambulance directorates in Suez are on high alert.
On Monday, Prosecutor General Hesham Barakat was killed in Cairo in a terror attack which left behind eight people injured.
