Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said on Wednesday that several Iraqi cities were purged from militants of the terrorist Daesh group.
The PM made the statements following a meeting with Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, now on a visit to Iraq.
Abadi said that he discussed with Shoukry ways of combating terrorism in the entire world.
He also praised security cooperation between Egypt and Iraq during the past period.
Shoukry, meanwhile, invited Abadi to visit Egypt during the coming period.
"I am here to congratulate the Iraqi officials on the formation of the new government," Shoukry said.
He also wished Iraq security and stability during the coming period, revealing Egypt's readiness to participate in the international coalition against terrorism.
