H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah attended here at University of Sharjah (UoS) the inauguration ceremony of the Conference on Social Policies in UAE. Organised by the Ministry of Social Affairs in conjunction with the United Nations Development Programme, Faculty of Arts, Human and Social Sciences at University of Sharjah under theme: 'From sponsorship to empowerment and participation', the event is held under patronage of H. H. Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah and President of UoS. The inauguration ceremony was also attended by Salem bin Abdul Rahman Al Qasimi, Director of Ruler's office, Mariam Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of Social Affairs, Major General Humaid Al Hudaidi, General Commander of Sharjah Police, senior officials, administrative and teaching staff and students. Chancellor of (UoS) Dr Sami Mahmoud thanked the Ruler of Sharjah for sponsoring the conference and the Sharjah Crown Prince for attending the inauguration ceremony. He underlined that the social policy is an essential part in planning, development, modernisation and social change to meet increasing basic requirements of all categories of society.
