
The 26th Arab League Summit will kick off in Sharm el Sheikh city on March 28-29 under President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
Sisi will take up the presidency of the summit for one year till March of 2016.
In statements to MENA, Egypt's Representative to the Arab League Tareq Adel said a number of meetings will be held ahead of the summit at the level of permanent delegates, senior officials and ministers.
He underlined that this year's AL summit is very important as it marks the 70th anniversary of the pan-Arab body. He added that the summit comes at a time while the Arab region faces various challenges.
"The summit provides an opportunity for Arab leaders to discuss the urgent issues in the region, atop of which terror," Adel said.
He noted that Egypt is ready to receive the Arab leaders and delegations participating in AL summit.
