First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah underscored importance of confronting violence, extremism and terrorism because they pose a great threat on the Arab national security.
Speaking to KUNA shortly before leaving Cairo after attending the Arab Foreign Ministers' meeting, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled said today's meeting was held "in unusual circumstances in the Arab nation." The foreign ministers, he said, thoroughly discussed challenges facing Arab countries particularly terrorism, extremism and violence, as well as how the Arab nations would address these challenges.
Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled meanwhile said Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas briefed the ministers about the next steps of the State of Palestine over the Palestinian cause.
Kuwait, in its capacity as chairman of the body that followed up implementation of the Arab summit, was closely following the developments of the Palestinian cause, he said.
Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled also asserted importance of the political solution for the Syrian conflict.
