
Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukri received two phone calls Saturday night from Chairman of the Libyan Presidential Council Fayez el Sarrag and UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdallah ben Zayed as part of coordination for the high-level meeting on Libya in Vienna on Monday.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said Sarrag, during his talks with Shoukry, asserted his appreciation for the important role played by Egypt in supporting the Libyan issue, backing the aspirations of the Libyan people in achieving stability and peace and reaching a national consensus.
Sarrag also welcomed the coordination between the Libyan presidential council and the Egyptian government in the coming phase.
During Shoukry's talks with the UAE top diplomat, the two sides coordinated stances as regards the expected outcome of the high-level meeting on Libya, set for May 16 in Vienna, so as to back the aspirations of the Libyan people and support legitimacy and stability in Libya.
