
Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met with African Union envoy for Sudan Thabo Mbeki on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting held in New York to discuss the situation in Sudan.
The meeting also tackled the current negotiations between armed movements in Darfur Sudan People's Liberation Movement-North and other members of Sudan Revolutionary Front that aim to encourage them to contribute to a national dialogue to be held in the Sudanese capital, Khartoum.
Meanwhile, Shoukry underlined Egypt's full support to African efforts to solve the Sudanese crisis, asserting that Sudan's stability and safety considered one of the pillars of Egypt's national security.
