Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Tuesday received Palestinian chief negotiator Saeb Erekat, now visiting here.
The meeting is meant to discuss coordination regarding the situation in the Palestinian territories and diplomatic action at the Arab and international levels on this score, said Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ambassador Ahmed Abu Zeid.
Shoukry listened, at the meeting, to a detailed explanation from Erekat about the recent developments in the territories, added the spokesman.
Erekat reviewed the current state of affairs of the Palestinian issue in light of failed efforts to push up the Middle East peace process, added the spokesman.
