
Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry presided over a meeting of the foreign ministers of Libya's neighboring countries.
The meeting was attended by the foreign ministers of Algeria, Sudan, Tunisia and Niger along with the Arab League chief and the Commissioner for Peace and Security of the African Union, according to a statement issued by Egypt's Foreign Ministry.
The meeting was held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, which was held in New York.
The meeting focused on consultations between the ministers on overall political and security conditions in Libya.
They also underlined the need of activating the initiative, which was endorsed by the foreign ministers of neighboring countries during their meeting in Cairo on August 25.
