
Sinai will be cleared of terror hotspots in a short period, House of Representatives Speaker Ali Abdel Aal said.
During the examination of a general committee report on a presidential decree extending the state of emergency over some Sinai regions for three months, the speaker said that Sinai will be cleared completely of terror hotspots in a short period and will return as an additional force to the nation.
Assistant Defense Minister for Constitutional and Legal Affairs Mamdouh Shahin, who attended the session, said a committee has been formed under ex-prime minister Ibrahim Mahlab to resolve all the residents’ problems and list needed development projects.
