Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received Wednesday a phone call from Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas.
During the phone conversation, the two sides reviewed the latest developments at the Palestinian arena and the Middle East.
Abbas also briefed Sisi on the outcome of his international contacts and efforts in order to reach a solution for the Palestinian cause.
Sisi, meanwhile, affirmed that the Palestinian cause will always be part of Egypt's priorities, said Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef.
He also said that Egypt will continue to support the Palestinian cause until a comprehensive solution is reached and a free and independent state according to 1967 borders is established, added the spokesman.
Sisi also pointed out to Egypt's contacts with the regional and international parties in order to achieve a breakthrough in the current situation.
