President Abdel Fattah El Sisi sent Thursday a message of reassurance to the Egyptian people concerning their future, presidential spokesman Alaa Youssef said.
President Sisi asserted the importance of putting aside differences and opting for collective action in order to serve the best interests of the nation, the spokesman added.
This came during Sisi inauguration of 32 new projects in 19 governorates.
The Egyptian president highlighted the necessity to offer a housing unit for every citizen who seeks a unit, even if the number of potential beneficiaries exceeded the number of planned units.
Slums also figured high in President Sisi's speech, the spokesman said, noting that the total cost to develop slums reached EGP 14 billion.
President Sisi directed the Housing Ministry and the Armed Forces Engineering Authority to put an end to the issue of slums within two years instead of three years.
President Sisi said the roads and projects, which are being inaugurated come under the supervision of the Armed Forces.
President Sisi, meanwhile, criticized encroachments on state lands by some individuals, saying he will never tolerate this.
Sisi said the lands that have not been allocated to citizens fall under the responsibility of the Armed Forces which will not allow them to be encroached upon.
The president said he will be notified within one month that all encroachments on state lands that took place in the past period have been removed.
A state of law means that everyone, including the president of the republic, is not above the law, he said.
He expressed resentment over a report showing that 300,000 feddans of the 1.5-million-feddan reclamation project were seized by some persons.
Sisi, meanwhile, called for avoiding any disagreement among State institutions for the sake of Egypt's future.
"We are in no need for disagreements because we share the same goal and interest which is preserving Egypt's security and stability," he added.
Addressing Egyptians, Sisi said "Do not be afraid on Egypt's future. All State institutions share the same goal for beloved Egypt".
"We should work for having a state of institutions. No one should be above the law, atop of which the Egyptian presidency," Sisi said.
He unveiled that he lately received a report about some kind of violation in the presidential institution.
"I immediately gave orders to punish the one responsible for that, saying this could never disgrace the presidential institution," he added.
There is no room for favoritism or compliments, Sisi said, stressing that those who worked with him in the army know very well that he does not like favoritism.
"It is our country and each one will get what he deserves by law," he said.
President Sisi also thanked the government and the Armed Forces for their efforts in carrying out development projects, the presidential spokesman said.
