President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Wednesday called President of Tunisia Beji Caid Essebsi, presidential spokesman Alaa Yousuf said.
During the telephone call, Sisi slammed the terrorist attack that targeted the National Bardo Museum in Tunisia earlier in the day.
Sisi expressed deep condolences to Essebsi and the Tunisian people as well, Yousuf added.
The spokesman noted that the president assured the Tunisian leader of Egypt's support for his country in fight against terrorism and extremism.
Essebsi, for his part, expressed thanks to Sisi for warm feelings and the supportive stance of Egypt.
