Sisi delivers Egypt's speech at UNGA session on Monday

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will deliver Egypt's speech at the 70th session of the United Nations General Assembly on Monday afternoon.

He will take up several current issues in the local, regional and international arenas, said Egyptian Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Alaa Youssef.
The president will tackle in his speech means of benefiting from the energy of young people and investing them in pushing up the development process along with means of fighting extremism and pooling all international efforts to uproot it, added the spokesman.

The spokesman noted that Egypt's relations with all world countries are excellent. Everybody now became aware of the progress achieved by Egypt for restoring stability and security, he added.
The spokesman noted that meetings of president Sisi over the past two days and over the coming two days come as part of Egypt's efforts to be open to the international community and for enhancing cooperation with all world countries and establishing relations that are based on joint respect and mutual interests.

President Sisi will meet on Monday with the French president, Italian prime minister and the Lebanese prime minister along with the presidents of Belarus and Panama.

As for failure to organize a meeting between president Sisi and US President Barack Obama on the sidelines of the UNGA meetings, the spokesman said that each president has his own program and schedule. This, however, will not affect distinguished relations between Egypt and the US, he added.

The spokesman made reference to an interview granted by president Sisi to the CNN news network, pointing out that the president took up the recent developments in Egypt and his view on fighting extremist thought in the Middle East along with his vision on the developments in the region at large and means of reaching political settlements to conflicts in the region to maintain the potentials of regional countries and protect their peoples.

The spokesman said that the president's participation in a summit on fighting terrorism that was called for by president Obama on the sidelines of the UNGA meetings was not settled yet. The spokesman denied that the issue was related to Egypt's rejection of the rubric of the summit. Rather it was related to the program of president Sisi and his schedule, he added.
