
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Monday with Tourism Minister Khaled Rami, Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Alaa Youssef said.
The meeting took up the plans of the tourism ministry to upgrade the tourism sector, especially increasing the annual number of tourists coming to Egypt to hit 20 million by 2020, the tourism infrastructure and means of preserving the natural and archaeological heritage.
The tourism minister reviewed the ministry efforts to promote for tourism, the quality and services offered by the Egyptian tourism resorts as well as the modern characteristics of the tourist sites.
Rami also unveiled plans to train cadres working in the field and measures to encourage tourists to return to Egypt.
President Sisi reiterated the importance of establishing new tourism projects as the tourism sector provides 12.6 percent of the job opportunities available.
Sisi also stressed the importance of launching initiatives to encourage domestic tourism especially among youth categories
