Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi is following up the situation in Sinai after attacks targeted a number of security buildings in Arish, the presidential spokesman said Thursday.
Sisi, currently in Ethiopia to take part in the African Union summit, phoned the minister of defense as well as top military commanders to follow up the situation and check on the injured, Alaa Yousef added.
The president ordered immediate actions against the culprits, Yousef said.
Earlier in the day, booby-trapped cars and mortar shells hit a number of security headquarters in the North Sinai city of Arish.
