Sisi greets Egyptians on Prophet's birthday, honours religious leaders

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has greeted Egyptians on Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)'s birthday and the New Year, his spokesman said.
Speaking at a ceremony marking the birthday anniversary of Prophet Muhammad on Thursday, the president called on all Egyptians to be inspired by the Prophet's manners, especially those related to hard working and devotion to the homeland, Alaa Yousef added.
During the event, Sisi honored a number of religious leaders for their significant role in the renewal of religious discourse and spread of moderate Islam.
The president granted former Mufti of Egypt Ali Gomaa and Al Azhar University President Abdel Hai Azab the Order of Science and Arts of the First Class.
Sisi also honored a number of former Awqaf leaders and religious figures.
