
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received a phone call Wednesday from Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al Abadi.
During the phone call, the two sides tackled the latest developments in Iraq along with a host of regional conditions, said Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef.
President Sisi underlined Egypt's support for Iraq and its state institutions, added the spokesman.
The Iraqi prime minister, meanwhile, underlined the close ties binding Egypt and Iraq, noted the spokesman.
He further hailed Egypt's crucial role in the Arab world and its support to Iraq in combating terrorism and confronting terrorist groups.
Abadi also reviewed the efforts exerted by his country in order to combat corruption and respond to the demands of the Iraqi people.
He also voiced his country's keenness on activating the signed agreements with Egypt.
