
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Tuesday laid wreaths at the Memorial of the Unkown Soldier in the Cairo suburb of Nasr City on the occasion of celebrations marking the 43rd anniversary of October war victory.
Sisi was welcomed by Defense Minister Sedqi Sobhi, Chief of Staff Mahmoud Hegazi, commanders of the various military branches and top brass.
A military band played the national anthem.
The president also laid wreaths at the tombs of former president Anwar Al Sadat and shook hands with a number of his family members.
Sisi later headed for Kobri el Qoba's Gamal Abdel Nasser Mosque where the late Egyptian leader is buried and laid wreaths at his tomb.
