President Abdel Fattah El Sisi asserted that history will remember the fights of the Egyptian army in defending Egypt's borders, its territories and people in view of the hard circumstances of the region along with its contribution to the development of the country and its push to the state's economy.
These remarks were made by Sisi during his surprise visit to North Sinai to inspect the Egyptian army and police troops stationed in Arish after the Armed Forces carried out fatal attacks against positions of the Takfiri elements after Sheikh Zuweid attacks on July 1.
President Sisi made the tour wearing military attire for the first time after he assumed office as president as a clear evidence that Egyptians are queued up behind their armed forces in its war against terrorism.
Sisi inspected Sinai security sector centre in North Sinai and listened to a review by top military brass to the swift and quick response to the Takfiri elements attacks on the security checkpoints.
He also followed up the military and security operations carried out through cooperation between the Second and Third Field Armies as well as support elements from the main army branches.
Sisi also inspected a number of security checkpoints and positions in Arish and voiced happiness over the achievements of the army and police who are gaining strong confidence from the Egyptian people.
Sisi praised the high morale of the Egyptian fighters who pledge to carry out their duties and defend the country with their souls and blood.
During his meeting with the troops in Arish, Sisi observed a minute of silence over the martyrs of the army who breathed their last in the malicious attacks of July 1.
He went on to say that such attacks, including the assassination of prosecutor general Hesham Barakat, carry a message of the evil elements to the Egyptian people who went out to streets on June 30 to defend their values and civilization.
He said that he has been following the situation minute by minute and was fully confident that the army will defeat such terrorists, noting that terrorists have been plotting to seize Sheikh Zuweid and announce an Islamic state in Sinai.
The president also asserted that the world has realized that Egypt is a genuine backbone for security and stability in the region, noting that our enemies recognized well the value of the Egyptian army and their ability to counter and deter terrorism in Sinai.
He also reiterated that Egyptians will never be intimidated or defeated, noting that all Egyptians back their army and its personnel and their missions in Sinai are conducted with all-out honor and honesty.
Sisi also offered condolences to all the Egyptian families whose sons were martyred anywhere in the Egyptian territories.
