President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met on Wednesday with Prime Minister Sherif Ismail and the new ministers and their deputies, who took the oath of office earlier in the day.
During the meeting, Sisi voiced appreciation to the former ministers and hailed efforts exerted by them during their tenure, said Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef.
He, meanwhile, underlined the need of reviewing the government's policy statement, which is scheduled to be referred by the House of Representatives, added the spokesman.
Sisi also underlined the need of putting the country's interests above any other consideration, rationalizing expenditure and preserving public funds, he said.
The spokesman further said that president Sisi stressed the need of confronting all forms of corruption.
He also underlined the importance of interaction between the ministers and the citizens through media outlets in order to clarify facts with full transparency and brief citizens on challenges, achievements and ongoing developments in the projects.
