
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi held several meetings with a number of officials on the sidelines of the second day of the 26th Arab Summit, which is being held in Sharm el Sheikh.
Sisi met with Algerian National Assembly Speaker Abdel Qader bin Saleh, who conveyed the greetings of Algerian President Abdulaziz Bouteflika to Sisi.
The Algerian official, meanwhile, voiced confidence that the joint Arab action will witness development and cooperation through Egypt's chairmanship of the 26th Arab Summit.
Algeria supports Egypt and its Arab stances, regarding support to Arab unity, he affirmed.
He further said that his country is keen on further boosting cooperation and coordination between the two sides.
He also hailed the progress made by the joint Egyptian-Algerian committee in the various economic and political spheres.
Sisi, for his part, welcomed the Algerian official and hailed the distinguished ties binding Egypt and Algeria, said Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef.
Regarding the Libyan crisis, Egypt and Algeria share identical views regarding this issue and they stressed the need to confront terrorism and violence in Libya, added the spokesman.
Sisi, meanwhile, met Sunday with Moroccan Prime Minister Abdelilah Benkirane, who also conveyed the greetings of Moroccan King Mohammed VI to Sisi.
Benkirane also pointed out to the crucial and pivotal role played by Egypt and its status in the Arab and Islamic worlds.
He also hailed Egypt's decision to support the "Operation Decisive Storm" against the Houthis in Yemen.
The spokesman, meanwhile, said that Sisi welcomed the Moroccan prime minister and voiced keenness on visiting Morocco in the near future in order to promote cooperation between the two countries.
Egypt supports efforts aiming to attain unity among the Arab countries and in the face of hazards, the spokesman quoted Sisi as saying during the meeting.
Regarding combating terrorism, Sisi said that renewing the religious discourse plays pivotal role in confronting misconceptions and fighting extremism.
Sisi also met with the vice president of the Comoros, who wished the Arab Summit success.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways of boosting cooperation, especially in field of renewable energy and generating electricity.
