
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directed Sunday to continue efforts to develop the wheat distribution system and ease the burdens of farmers.
This came during his meeting with Supply and Internal Trade Minister Khaled Hanafi, during which he updated the president on the latest rates of buying local wheat from the farmers, which hit 70 percent, or 2.6 million tons, till the morning.
Hanafi said the increasing rate boded well for the vital crop season, especially that the process will keep going during the month.
Sisi ordered developing wheat storage systems and silos, and increasing their storage capacities.
He underlined the importance of easing all the hardships the farmers faced during their work.
