
Abdel Fattah El Sisi on Saturday ordered a rescue ship of the Egyptian Navy to head for Port Sudan to take part in searching or more survivors after an Egyptian fishing boat sank off Sudan's shores with 14 fishermen on board.
Egypt's ambassador in Khartoum told MENA on Saturday that President Sisi is following up the ongoing rescue efforts.
Earlier in the day, an Egyptian boat drifted into the Sudanese territorial waters due to strong winds and sent an SOS signal before it sank.
The Sudanese coastal guards rescued two young fishermen and search operations for the other 12 are underway.
Egyptian Consul General in Port Sudan Hani Bassioni paid a visit to the two survivors at hospital to check on them.
Sudanese navy forces are searching for more survivors.
