
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi issued a decree to establish a unified command for east Suez canal zone and anti-terror.
The decree was taken after a meeting of the Supreme Council of the Armed Force that discussed recent terrorist attacks in Sinai.
Sisi listened to a detail explanation about the circumstances of the attacks and measures taken by the army to purge the region from terrorists and criminals.
He hailed efforts exerted by the army in coordination with police to combat terror.
The new command will be led by major general Osama Askr who was promoted to the rank of lieutenant general.
