President Abdel Fattah al Sisi has phoned Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)'s President Joseph Kabila on bilateral relations.
Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said the president posted his African counterpart on the Egyptian side's interest in increasing investments in the DR Congo.
Sisi informed Kabila on Egypt's preference of dialogue rather than confrontation in managing its ties with Nile basin member states.
Kabila, for his part, said he fully understood Egypt's interest in the Nile as the only source of fresh water.
He also appreciated the agreement signed by Egypt, Ethiopia and Sudan in Khartoum on the Ethiopian Renaissance Dam.
Sisi invited Kabila to attend the opening ceremony of the New Suez Canal Project and to discuss bilateral relations.
