
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi praised on Friday Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud's current visit to Egypt.
Speaking at a press conference with the Saudi monarch, Sisi expected the visit to open new horizons for joint action and boost bonds of brotherhood between the two countries.
At the beginning of the press conference, Sisi welcomed the Saudi king and his accompanying delegation to Egypt.
He said that King Salman's current visit to Egypt is meant to bolster ties and strategic partnership between the two countries in a manner that helps face regional threats.
The two countries are capable of maintaining the security of the Arab region at this critical phase, Sisi noted.
He stressed that coordination between the two countries is necessary to solve the Yemeni, Libyan, Syrian and Palestinian issues.
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said the current visit by King Salman to Cairo, leads him to be optimistic that the two sides can together reaffirm the concept of the comprehensive national state to confront terrorism and extremism that undermine stability and represent a threat to the future of humanity as a whole.
"All the Egyptian people welcome you as a close brother and a great supporter to Egypt and its people, as the Egyptians never forgot your noble positions when you joined your brothers in the Egyptian armed forces in general mobilization to confront the tripartite aggression against Egypt in 1956, and your role in supporting the war effort during the War of Attrition, which culminated in the glorious victory in October 1973; positions that reflect the a pure Arab chivalry and always will be appreciated by the Egyptian people," Sisi said.
"Today, we inaugurate a new chapter
on the path of joint Arab action and Egyptian-Saudi relations," he added.
Sisi said that the Saudi king's visit King's opens new extended horizons to the areas of bilateral cooperation, as the two countries signed agreements in many fields of joint cooperation.
He added that Egypt has granted King Salman the Collar of the Nile in appreciation of the friendly and distinguished relations binding the two countries.
For his part, King Salman said he is delighted to pay a visit to Egypt, a country of history, civilization, science and culture.
He thanked President Sisi and the Egyptian people for the warm reception and generous hospitality.
The Saudi king said that his visit to Egypt comes within the framework of strengthening close historic ties and mutual cooperation between the two countries, serving the two peoples and supporting the international peace and security.
He added that he and President Sisi agreed on establishing a land line to connect Egypt and Saudi Arabia in a historic step that would connect Asia and Africa and increase the trade volume between the continents to unprecedented levels.
The planned land line will also support exports from the two countries to the world, as will as forming a key bridge for pilgrims and an international outlet for the most promising projects between the two countries, along with providing jobs for people in the region.
For his part, Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud said that the recently-formed 37-state Arab military coalition was necessary to prevent any interference in the domestic affairs of Arab countries, especially in Yemen.
King Salman thanked the Arab countries which participated in the Arab military coalition.
He praised efforts exerted by Egypt to maintain the dignity of the Arab countries.
Efforts are underway to launch the joint Arab force, he concluded.
At the end of the press conference, Sisi said that the land line connecting the two countries will be named after the Saudi king.
