
The strength of Arab countries comes from their unity, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi said in a speech read out by Prime Minister Sherif Ismail during the 27th ordinary session of the Arab Summit, currently taking place here.
Leading a high-ranking Egyptian delegation to the summit, Ismail conveyed Sisi's greetings, appreciation as well as keenness on taking part in the activities of the summit.
The premier also conveyed the president's wishes to render the summit a success and achieve stability and progress for the Arab countries.
During his speech, Sisi expressed Egyptian people's appreciation for their country's Arab affiliation as an inseparable part of their historic and cultural identity.
The president has appreciated Mauritania's effort for hosting the well-organized Arab summit in its capital.
Also, Sisi thanked the outgoing Arab League (AL) Secretary General Nabil al Araby for all his efforts during his tenure, sending congratulations for incumbent secretary Ahmed Abul Gheit over assuming the post in light of Arab countries' trust in his diplomatic experience.
Underscoring Egypt's keenness on offering support for the AL and boosting Arab ties and integration, Sisi said that throughout Egypt's's presidency of the pan-Arab body, efforts focused on bolstering joint political, social and economic work.
The president stressed that the situation of Arab countries requires rallying efforts with a view to achieving coherence within Arab societies.
Meanwhile, Sisi said that foreign interference should be faced and regional and international challenges must be dealt with through developing religious discourse and cooperation.
On the Syrian crisis, Sisi said that political solutions should be sought to end bloodshed in the Arab country.
