
President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will give within few hours the green light for inaugurating the New Suez Canal with delegations from 102 countries attending.
About 15,000 policemen and Armed Forces personnel are fanned out to tighten security from Cairo to the New Suez Canal.
Sisi will open the ceremony on board of the Mahrousa yacht accompanied by youths and families of martyrs.
This will coincide with naval and air parades.
Newly-acquired French Rafale warplanes and US F-16s will also be on display.
Kings, presidents and princes will then go to the platform as a noon ceremony will start with the national anthem, then a documentary film on the Suez Canal will be screened and the opening document will be inked to sanction the passage of two ships on the two directions of the canal. This will be the first part of the inauguration ceremony.
In the evening, Sisi will hold a dinner banquet for his guests, then they will go to the Opera House west of the canal for Opera Aida show.
