President Abdel Fattah El Sisi welcomed a 13.1-billion-pound project to establish an international logistic center for food supplies, Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Khaled Hanafi said.
Hanafi said that he presented the project to Sisi during a meeting.
The project will be established in cooperation with the ministries of transport and housing in Damietta, Hanafi said.
It aims at transforming Egypt into an international logistic axis for storing and exchanging cereals and practicing logistic activities, he said.
The project will include establishing storage silos in three places, he said.
Hanafi added that the project will include five investment and industrial zones for cereals and food supplies.
