Social Solidarity Minister Ghada Wali said she has appointed 65 handicapped people at the ministry since assuming her post.
Addressing a conference on training disabled people to join tourism sector jobs, she criticized some institutions' failure to allow 5 percent of their employees to be of the handicapped in line with the law.
Some of the institutions either fail to adhere to this percentage and others just send salaries to the disabled even without attendance, she expounded.
She underlined the importance of getting them to be productive.
Under law, handicapped people should represent 5 percent of the state employees, she said.
She noted that people of special needs got nine seats at the parliament.
