
A Soukhoi bomber belonging to the Algerian Air Force crashed Monday afternoon during a training exercise at the air proving ground in Hassi Bahbah (First military region ), killing its two crew members, the Ministry of National Defense said in a statement.
"During a training exercise at the air proving ground in Hassi Bahbah/1st Military Region, a Soukhoi bomber (Su-24) belonging to the Algerian Air Force crashed today, Monday 13 October 2014 at 3:09 p.m," the same source stated.
"The accident caused the death of the crew of the aircraft, the pilot and the browser system officer," the statement added.
"Following this tragic accident, an inquiry committee was set up to determine its causes and circumstances," the source stated.
