
Abdel Fattah El Sisi issued a decree Tuesday to extend the state of emergency in a number of North Sinai areas for three months.
The decision covers the areas extending from east in Tel Rafah through the international border line to Awga, west from El Arish to Mount Halal, and from west of Al Arish through the sea coast to Rafah international border line.
The second article of the decree stipulated that a curfew shall be imposed on the defined area from 7:00 pm until 6:00 am expect for Al Arish city and the international highway as it starts from 1:00 am and ends at 5:00 am everyday.
The Armed Forces and the police assume the responsibility to take action to confront terrorism, along with maintaining security, protecting public and private property, saving the lives of citizens in the region, according to the decree.
Those who violate the orders will be punished by imprisonment, according to the provisions of Law No. 162 of 1958.
